Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal in August, is already very high-spirited. It is often blue sky and white clouds, with green grass everywhere. In this beautiful season, the Kathmandu Valley Water Supply Improvement Project team welcomed Hilling Chang, the Chairman of SafBon. After routine inspection of the project site and the project management department, the Chairman requested on-site engineering and technical personnel and construction management personnel to strictly follow the Asian Development Bank (ADB) project management specifications, as well as quality assurance, document archiving, and project construction acceptance. The project team shall strive to complete the commissioning of the project at the end of October next year.
Subsequently, the Chairman visited the client company (PID) and the project consulting company DOHWA hired by the client. The three parties have exchanged friendly and achieved fruitful achievements. This meeting has played a significant role for the construction progress of three DBO municipal wastewater treatment plants (WWTP).
The Kathmandu Valley water supply improvement project mainly includes Dhobighat WWTP with a capacity of 37,000 t/d, Kodku WWTP with a capacity of 17,500 t/d, and Sallaghari WWTP with a capacity of 14,200 t/d. The project adopts the Design-Build-Operate (DBO) model. Through fierce international bidding, SafBon has won these three projects. After the completion of the project, the total capacity is 68,700 t/d, and it will be operated and maintained by SafBon for five years. This is the largest WWTP in Nepal's history. After the project is put into operation, it will greatly improve the local river water quality and the ecological environment.
